What is the .eu Web Awards?

The .eu Web Awards are an online competition, launched in 2014 and designed to acknowledge the best websites, using the .eu, .ею or .ευ extensions, in six dynamic categories.

Over the years we have seen and enhanced the visibility of hundreds of beautiful, innovative, and impactful websites through the .eu Web Awards.

The 2021 .eu Web Awards winners were announced during a gala held on 14 October 2021.

Selection of the winners and the prizes

Finalists with the highest scores from the jury were selected as winners, and were announced during the Awards ceremony held on 14 October 2021.

The seven winners will receive the following:

Billboard advertising

A two month billboard advertising campaign in Brussels Airport.

Custom trophy

Winners will receive a personalized .eu, .ею or .ευ Web Awards trophy.

Custom video

A customised video produced by EURid will be provided to the winners for promotional purposes.

Digital .eu, .ею or .ευ Web Awards icon

3 different icon formats will be provided to the winners for their websites and social media accounts.


Anne-Marie Eklund Löwinder

Anne-Marie Eklund Löwinder, is the Chief Information Officer at The Swedish Internet Foundation and a security expert. She can answer most questions about strategic information and IT security for both businesses and ordinary users, such as current management systems for information security and ISO 27001, as well as questions about encryption, passwords, security on web sites, e-mail, smart gadgets, cloud services, and networks.

Maria Rosa Gibellini

Maria Rosa Gibellini has been Director General at the European Internet Forum (EIF) since 2012. She is an expert in association management, strategy and communications, and has been in the digital policy, innovation and technology sector for most of her career. With an Executive Master in International Association Management from Solvay Brussels School, she is also Board member and Co-chair of the Communications & Membership Committee at the European Society of Association Executives (ESAE). An Italian national, Maria Rosa is Co-founder and Board member of the Italian network of digital policy professionals - Digitalians.

Colleen Kelly

Colleen Kelly is a corporate trainer with a background in adult education, having first worked for an economic development society in her native Canada before relocating to Europe in 1992 to work as a director of studies then establishing Kelly & Associates in 2002, a company specializing in the design and delivery of custom- made integrated skills training. Colleen specializes in soft skills trainings, a wide range of business writing courses and corporate language. Her portfolio of clients has taken her throughout several European countries and when at her base in the Czech Republic, she hosts a speaker’s platform and owns and operates a training and holiday retreat outside Prague.

Mayte Carracedo

Mayte Carracedo. is the Chief Business Developer & Co-Founder from FundingBox. She has a degree in Political Sciences and International Studies by the University of Santiago de Compostela, master in European policies by the ULB (Belgium) and MBA by EAE. Mayte has been active for the last 17 years in public funding for innovation, taking part in international projects with different roles. Mayte is currently playing a leading role in several initiatives for supporting the digital transformation of European companies, such as ICT for Manufacturing SMEs (I4MS), Digital Innovation Hubs Network (DIHNET) or PhotonHub, as well as facilitating the connection among deep tech start-ups with private capital.

João Pedro Martins

João Pedro Martins is currently a Data Scientist at Talkdesk. He has a Master’s in Informatics Engineering from the University of Coimbra, with a specialisation in Intelligent Systems. He has taken an active role in online safety and digital literacy discussions and best practices since an early age, being a Youth Ambassador for the Better Internet for Kids Project for the last 9 years, within the European Insafe Network. More recently, he has also become member of several youth initiatives in the Internet Governance field, with relevant positions in the Youth IGF Movement and as Coordinator of the EURid Youth Committee. João is also member of the Youth Coalition on Internet Governance, Youth Observatory within Internet Society and participates on youth programs of Council of Europe and ICANN.
